Greensboro Parks

Greensboro boasts over 245 public parks, with Parks and Recreation overseeing 9,000 acres of parkland and open space. This includes 175 facilities, almost 100 miles of trails and greenways, ten recreation centers, four botanical gardens, three lakes, two active adult centers, and two golf courses. Each year, the department welcomes 4.3 million visitors and organizes a multitude of innovative programs for children, teens, and older adults. Additionally, it hosts numerous unique special events that foster community unity. Read below for information on just a few of the many parks in Greensboro. 

  • LeBauer Park: Located in the heart of downtown Greensboro, LeBauer Park features two restaurants, a performance pavilion with lawn seating for up to 2,000, a 15,000-square-foot children’s play place, a putting green, a 3,500-square-foot dog park, a splashpad, an outdoor reading room, game tables and a one-acre plot of botanical gardens.
  • Barber Park: Greensboro’s Barber Park features a sprayground, six picnic shelters, playground, one mile walking trail, Safety Town, an outdoor amphitheater, disc golf, Penn Wright Baseball Stadium, Simkins Indoor Sports Pavilion, and the Barber Park Event Center featuring the Ruth Wicker Tribute to Women.
  • Guilford Courthouse National Military Park: Guilford Courthouse National Military Park is located on the site of the largest battle of the Revolutionary War’s Southern Campaign. General Nathaniel Greene, namesake of the city, led Patriot troops in the Battle of Guilford Courthouse and helped turn the tide of the war in the favor of independence.
  • Bryan Park: Located in north Greensboro, Bryan Park is home to 36 holes of championship golf. The park also boasts a pro shop and grill for golfers. Alongside golf facilities, Bryan Park also has picnic shelters, tennis courts and a playground. 
  • Keely Park: Keely Park is located in east Greensboro and features something for everyone. Enjoy the community garden, spray ground, fishing ponds, paved walking trail, or just relax in one of the park’s shelters. A special feature of Keely Park is “Up in the Air,” an all-inclusive playground for children of all abilities. 
  • Battleground Parks District: The Battleground Parks District is 400 acres and more than 13 miles of trails and greenways in the heart of Greensboro where history meets nature. It includes Jaycee Park, Spencer Love Tennis Center, Lewis Rec Center, Guilford Courthouse National Military Park and Country Park which features paved walking trails, a dog park, pedal boats, fishing, ziplining and a carousel.
