 Insider Tips

  • Guilford College Woods – Known as the New Garden Woods in the 1800s, this is felt as a sacred place. Located within the historically Quaker New Garden/Guilford College community, it encompasses old growth forest and at least one champion tree standing as a silent witness to Underground Railroad activities.
  • Underground Railroad Tree – This old growth Tulip tree, dating back to before 1800, was present during the documented operation of the Underground Railroad in Guilford County (1819-1852). The tree stood as silent witness to the lives and actions of African Americans (enslaved and free) and their white allies (including many Quakers from New Garden).
  • Kathleen Clay Edwards Library – located in the heart of Price Park, the library displays popular collections, has a unique selection of nature, gardening, and environmental resources for children and adults.
  • Guilford Garden Center – Guilford Garden Center first opened its doors in 1963, serving the fast-growing area of the northern and Guilford College areas of Greensboro, NC.
  • Greensboro Jewish Federation – The voice of our local Jewish community and for millions of Jews around the world. Giving care to those in need, giving deeper engagement in quality of life, and giving strength to the community is at the heart of what we do. Since 1940, the Federation has funded programs that care for people at every stage of life — strengthening community, providing leadership, and nurturing the leaders of tomorrow.
