Got a sweet tooth? Greensboro is home to many delicious bakeries that will surprise you with their crafty lamination and buttercream.

  • Savor the Moment: Home of the “crunch cheesecakes”, Savor the Moment is located in downtown Greensboro just steps away from LeBauer Park, Center City Park, the Greensboro Cultural Center and the Miriam Brenner Children’s Museum. Savor the Moment sells all sorts of fruity and sweet treats, in addition to hand scooped ice cream.
  • Cheesecakes by Alex: Located on the 300 block of South Elm street in downtown Greenway, Cheesecakes by Alex is a center city tradition (open for 22 years!) for morning coffee and muffins – to late night cheesecakes. Alex’s serves twenty cheesecake flavors year round and two seasonal (blueberry and eggnog).
  • Maxie B’s: Featured in Southern Living as one of the “South’s Best Cakes,” this locally owned favorite is a must-try. From their seasonal favorites, like strawberry shortcake or eggnog pound cake, or go-to 7-Up cupcakes, go for an occasion or anytime you want to “celebrate.”
  • Augustino Gusto: This insider favorite started as a stand at the Greensboro Curb Market and is now a brick and mortar shop off north Lawndale Avenue. Get there early, as the line starts at opening time. Customers come for their homemade deep dish quiches, breads, pastries, pecan cinnamon rolls, pies and desserts.
  • Breadservice: Breadservice is a family-owned, home-based, state-certified microbakery, making naturally-leavened sourdough out of a 110-year-old farmhouse in the College Hill neighborhood. Jess McCarthy and his wife, Ingrid, run the bakery out of their home. You can subscribe to weekly “breadservice” for pick up or find their goodies at Deep Roots Market.
  • Black Magnolia Southern Patisserie: Nestled in Greensboro, NC’s historic Revolution Mill, Black Magnolia Southern Patisserie is black women-owned bakery crafting small batch artisanal delights. Their treats blend Southern charm with French flair, highlighted by the beloved Bourbon Banoffee Roll. Offering a daily selection of cinnamon rolls, biscuits, scones, cookies, cakes, and more.
  • Spring Garden Bakery & Coffeehouse: Spring Garden Bakery, a staple on Spring Garden Street for over 40 years, is renowned for its world-famous muffins, including the original pumpkin chocolate chip. Across the years, its commitment to excellence and loyal customer base has allowed it to remain as a cherished meeting point in our community.
